Two-year term
A U.S. citizen
An Arkansas resident for two years prior to election.
Minimum age of 25

A person of upright character
Good business education

A qualified elector
A resident of the County at the time of election and during term in office.

Must never have been convicted of embezzlement of public money, bribery, forgery, or other infamous crime.

Office Requirements - Circuit Judge

Six-year term
A U.S. citizen
A qualified elector
Shall not hold any other office of trust or profit in Arkansas or US, except as authorized by law.
Licensed attorney in Arkansas for at least six (6) years immediately preceding the date of assuming office.
Resident of geographic area from which chosen; must reside there at time of election and during period of service.  (Note:  Geographic area may include any county contiguous to the county to be served when there are no qualified candidates available in the county to be served.)
Must never have been convicted of embezzlement of public money, bribery, forgery, or other infamous crime.

Office Requirements - District Judge

Four-year term
A U.S. citizen
A qualified elector
Licensed attorney in Arkansas for at least four (4) years immediately preceding the date of assuming office.
Resident of geographic area from which chosen; must reside there at time of election and during period of service.  (Note:  Geographic area may include any county contiguous to the county to be served when there are no qualified candidates available in the county to be served.)
Must never have been convicted of embezzlement of public money, bribery, forgery, or other infamous crime.
